  • Clarksville Support Group For Weight Loss Surgery provides educational and informational resources for preoperative and postoperative patients. It delivers optimum weight loss and maintenance guidance along with providing the techniques and tools to live your life. The support group meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the Liberty Room of Gateway Medical Center from 6-8 p.m. For more information contact Gateway's Bariatric Nurse Coordinator at 931-502-1465.

  • Diabetes Support Group offers current, accurate and usable information related to self-management of diabetes (family members welcome). Each meeting showcases a different expert speaker as well as a question and answer period. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Liberty Rooms of Gateway Medical Center.   • Clarksville Ostomy Support is a local support group for people who have undergone ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy or who suffer form Crohn's disease or other diseases of the bowel. Support for Ostomy Patients meets in the Liberty Room of Gateway Medical Center the second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. For more information, call 931-502-5001.

  • Warriors of HOPE - Breast Cancer Support Group provides a place to share the journey of life after breast cancer. For more information contact Jennifer at warriorsofhope@charter.net or call 931-624-5400.
  • Reach to Recovery offers support for breast cancer patients with a visit from a breast cancer survivor. Individual visits are available or there is a support group that meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library from 5-6 p.m. For more information call 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit the American Cancer Society website at www.cancer.org.
  • YMCA ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program is a 16-week outreach program designed for women recovering from treatment of breast cancer. The program will include a customized exercise program designed by a certified personal trainer, nutritional counseling, participant support by caring staff and regular educational seminars.   • SEE Pink (Serve - Empower - Educate). Supporting and strengthening those touched by breast cancer by providing care, guidance, and education. For more information, visit http://seepink2.blogspot.com or contact Lynne Woodson at 931-241-1277.
  • Look Good, Feel Better educates women on how to deal with the physical and emotional effects of cancer treatment. From hair loss to make-up application, certified cosmetologists will help you to look good feel better. For more information, call 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
  • I Can Cope is an educational series provided for those individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer. For more information on class topics and dates, call 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
  • FOCUS (Families of Clarksville's Unique Society) is a local support group for family and friends of special needs children. Meets at Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane, at 6 p.m. on 2nd Tuesday. For more information call 931-920-4255 or 931-358-5171.
  • Both Alcoholic Anonymous and Al-Anon meet at 951 Clark Street. Call 931-647-0225 for meeting times.
  • Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Meets at Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd Monday Night of the month and at the Senior Citizens Center on the 3rd Wednesday at 9 a.m. For more information call 931-648-1884. The groups are free and open to family, friends, and caregivers of anyone affected by Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias. The group is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association
  • Survivors of Suicide Bereavement Support Group is offered by Behavioral Health Care Center at Clarksville and First Baptist Church, Clarksville. Its purpose is to provide a safe place for survivors (families and loved ones of suicide victims) to share their loss with others who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. Open to all adult survivors of suicide. Meetings take place the 3rd Monday of each month at First Baptist Church, Clarksville in the Hope Activity Building, Room 2311. Enter from 5th Street.   • Smoking Cessation. The Tennessee Department of Health offers a statewide telephone-based tobacco cessation program. Individuals now can call the Tennessee tobacco quitline at 800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) to receive personalized support to aid in quitting cigarette, spit or chew tobacco. The Tennessee tobacco quitline is a toll-free service. Callers will be connected with a trained coach who will guide them through the quitting process, as well as ongoing professional coaching via individually scheduled calls from a counselor personally assigned to them. It is a free, confidential service, and available to Tennessee residents in both English and Spanish. Callers also will have complimentary access to relapse prevention techniques, resource materials, information on nicotine replacement therapies and other services to aid in the quitting process.
