Gateway Names New Directors
of Human Resources and Patient Financial Services

Richard Johnson has been named as Gateway Medical Center’s new Director of Human Resources. He previously served as Manager of Human Resources at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana, and specializes in employee relations. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Alabama-Birmingham as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Birmingham-Southern College. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management. Johnson brings over 10 years of experience to the position and is skilled in areas such as management, leadership, recruiting and training.

Gateway Medical Center recently appointed Bill Cashner as its new Director of Patient Financial Services. Cashner joins the Gateway team from Mesa, Arizona, where he previously served as Director of Patient Financial Services at Mountain Vista Medical Center. Cashner brings over 35 years of experience to the position and specializes in all areas of Revenue Cycle Management. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including SSM Healthcare Network and the Medical Group Management Association. Cashner is also a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where he serves as a National Board Member for the PFS Forum and a National Chairman of the HFMA Forum Voice newsletter.
