Flora Newman Named 2007 Gateway Employee of the Year

Flora Newman has been named Gateway Medical Center’s 2007 Employee of the Year. She was chosen from among the Employee of the Month recipients for the year who were nominated by fellow employees. Qualifiers for Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year nominations include dedication, team spirit and extra efforts.

Although one of our newest employees, Flora is a pro at making our patients feel comfortable and cared for. In her role as an Environmental Services Attendant, Flora is known as a true team member who takes pride in her work. Flora spends her free time bowling and volunteering in the community.

According to Environmental Services Director Beverly Adkins, “Flora quickly learned her assigned duties and became a valuable member of our team. More importantly she became an advocate for our patients and makes sure they have what they need.”

Flora was awarded the honor at Gateway’s Annual Service Awards Banquet where she also received a weekend stay at Opryland Hotel and her own designated parking space at the hospital.
